Through the various social clubs and volunteer opportunities you’ll see in this section, members of the synagogue and of the larger community can find ways to contribute to building a better Niskayuna/Schenectady area.
Our Social Action Committee is dedicated to the goal of Tikkun Olam, making the world a better place, along with our Hessed Committee, which was formed to keep contact with isolated members of the synagogue during the COVID pandemic. It now serves as a branch of Social Action, in coordinated efforts with Reyut, an arm of the Women’s Network, to offer services to elderly or infirmed members who ask for such forms of assistance.
Our active Men’s Club participates in synagogue events and helps in a variety of ways to improve synagogue life year-round.
Volunteers are always needed for events and activities, but none more than our famous Carrot Festival, hosted each fall on our sprawling lawn to thousands of guests. We serve delicious food, offer exciting entertainment, bring local vendors, and collect items for distribution to charitable organizations in our area.
Consider joining a committee today or reaching out to the synagogue office for more information on one of these clubs or another branch of synagogue activity. We look forward to speaking with you.
